- Another wood or plywood block from which to cut a sharp triangle;
- Paint or stain of desired color, for example, to match tabletops, facades or kitchen apron;
- Brush for painting or rag for staining;
- Jigsaw or saw;
- Joiner's glue or any other glue strong fixation.
Instruction:
- Using a saw or jigsaw, shorten your plank or molding to the desired size (across the width of the board), sand the edges with sandpaper, then just stick it on the bottom of the board.
- Cut a support for a stand in the form of a sharp triangle with a right angle from the piece of wood as in the photo below and also glue it.
- Paint the entire preform following the paint manufacturer’s instructions and leave to dry.
- If desired, the handle of the resulting stand can be decorated with jute rope or ribbon. Thus, when the stand is not needed, you can hang it on the hook.

Idea 3. Organizer for table and kitchen appliances from cans
Cans are worth nothing, but they are durable, easy to maintain, and their shape is just suitable for storing all kinds of shovels, scoops, forks, spoons and other appliances. If you make a little effort and creativity, you can make a comfortable and nice organizer out of them, which, if you don’t fit into the interior of the city kitchen, will definitely take root in the country house. And also an organizer, made by hand from cans, can be used to store tools, brushes, markers and other trifles.
To make such a stand for spoons and forks, you will need:
- 4 or 6 clean and dried cans without lids and burrs;
- Acrylic paint for metal or enamel paint (it will protect banks from rust);
- Several wood screws and screwdriver;
- Thick nail and hammer;
- Furniture handle or leather strap with fittings;
- Small wooden plank.
Instruction:
- Paint the jars inside and out and let them dry for one day.
- If necessary, file a wooden plank to the desired size, sand, clean and finally paint (not necessarily in the tone of the cans).
- Take a nail and a hammer and make a hole for the screw in all the cans.
Tip: To make this process easier and not damage the paint layer, place a small bar on the table with a clamp, then wrap the bar with felt and then put a can on the bar (see the next photo-collage picture in the lower left corner)
- Put the cans on the plank and align them as they will be mounted in the future. Mark the hole locations with a pencil.
- Make small holes in the plank at the markers using a hammer and nail.
- Screw the screw into the hole of the first jar to attach it to the plate. Repeat the procedure with all remaining banks.
- Finally, install a furniture handle or leather strap on the end of the wooden board using the same screws. Done!

- Decor for masking a pot filler, such as moss, pebbles or sisal fiber;
- Flower pot;
- The filler for the pot, which will fix the barrel. For example, suitable cement mortar, all the same foam or alabaster (the best option);
- Thermo-glue in the gun;
- If necessary, you will need paint for decorating the trunk, stem or pot. Also, the trunk can be decorated with ribbon or twine.
Basic instruction:
- For starters, it is advisable to paint the base in the color of the crown elements so that possible bald spots are not noticeable. You can also paint the barrel and pot and leave them to dry.
- Cut a hole at the base of the crown for the barrel with a depth of a couple of centimeters, fill it with glue and fix the barrel.
- Take the base of the crown and start individually sticking decorative items. The procedure at this stage is simple: first large parts are glued, then medium and, finally, small elements fill the bald spots. Glue the decor to quickly until the glue is not absorbed into the base.
- Dilute the mixture to fix the trunk in the pot according to the manufacturer's instructions and fill the pot with it, not reaching a couple of centimeters to the edge. Next, insert the barrel, hold it a little and then leave to dry for a day.
- Disguise the filling of the pot with a decorative “cover” (you can fix it a little with glue).

Idea 5. Serving Tray
But the idea of an unusual serving tray-board, which, although not cutting (intended for laying out products only in dishes), can nevertheless be very functional. For example, it can be used for a beautiful serving of snacks to the table (olives, pistachios, nuts, chips, etc.), sauces, honey, sour cream, jam. Thanks to the slate, while the board is not used for its intended purpose, you can simply hang it on the wall and use it for writing.
For the manufacture of this kitchen crafts with your own hands you will need:
- Wooden board 5 cm thick;

Idea 6. Stand for cups and glasses
If you belong to the type of people who collect wine corks (just like that or in the hope of ever making something useful out of them), then you will like this idea of crafts.
To make one stand under the mug you will need:
- 8 traffic jams (respectively, for the manufacture of a set of 4 stands require 32 traffic jams);
- A roll of corkboard, rug or stand for plates (for cutting out the base of the cupholders);
- Hot glue;
- Twine.
Step 1. Spread your corks in pairs in square format, as shown in the photo below. Using hot glue, apply a strip of glue between the two stoppers and press them together for 30 seconds. Repeat the procedure with all other pairs.
Step 2. From a sheet cork (board, rug) cut a square corresponding to the size of the future stand.Next, apply a thermal glue on it, wait 15-20 seconds. and glue your blanks.
Step 3. Fill the gaps between the corks with glue and let it dry. For better adhesion of the glue to the corks, you can put a press on the workpiece.
Step 4. Wrap the crafts with twine and tie a knot.
If desired, the stand can be made round, triangular or hexagonal, cutting off the excess with a knife.
By the described principle, you can do it yourself and just such a stand under the hot. By the way, as a basis in this case the old compact disc will fit.
Idea 7. Wall panels
Another idea for home and kitchen crafts that can be made by hand from wine corks is a wall panel for decorating the interior and storing notes, memorable photos and cards.
For work, you only need a beautiful frame (from a painting or a mirror), paint of the desired color, hot glue and a large pile of traffic jams. Traffic jams can be laid out "herringbone", in a checkerboard pattern, in even rows and in other ways that you like. If necessary, for example, if there are not enough traffic jams, they can be cut along or across. And in order to make corks easier to cut, they need to be soaked in hot water for 10 minutes.

Idea 8. Universal knife holder
The knife holder is a very useful kitchen tool that helps keep the working space in order and maintain the sharpness of the blades of the knives longer.
It’s very easy to make a knife holder with your own hands - just pick up a small vase and firmly fill it with bamboo / wooden skewers, colored beans or ... colored spaghetti, as in our master class.
To make a knife stand, prepare:
- The container or vase is the height of the blade of your largest knife. The shape of the container can be any, but without any bends;
- Spaghetti, lots and lots of spaghetti;
- Several zip-packs of large size (or just large bags that can be tightly tied in a knot);
- Alcohol (for example, vodka);
- Liquid food dye of the desired color (or several dyes, if you want to make a multi-color filling);
- Baking sheets;
- Aluminum foil or old oilcloth tablecloth;
- Paper towels;
- Kitchen scissors.
Instruction:
- Make sure your container is clean and dry, then firmly fill it with spaghetti. When the container is full, remove the spaghetti and add to this heap another couple of bunches of pasta in reserve (in case of filling the broken sticks).
- Spread spaghetti evenly in bags and pour enough alcohol into them so that he can dampen all the sticks. Next, add 10-40 drops of food coloring to each bag.
- Seal or tie your bags, then put them in additional bags to avoid leaks. Shake and turn the bags slowly to mix the dye with alcohol and pasta. Next, put the bag on one side and leave it for 30 minutes, then turn the bag over again and leave it for another half hour. Continue to soak the spaghetti in this way (but not more than 3 hours) until they have the desired shade.
- Cover your baking sheet with aluminum foil, then with a layer of paper towels (or oilcloth). To protect hands from staining it is advisable to wear gloves. Remove the spaghetti from the bags, pre-drain all the liquid, spread them on the baking sheet in one layer and leave to dry. From time to time, spaghetti must be sorted out for uniform drying.
- Once your spaghetti is completely dry, start putting them in a container.
- Shake the filled container and flatten the spaghetti. Insert your knives to determine the optimum filling density, add macaroni if necessary, or remove excess material.
- Now, using kitchen scissors or other very sharp scissors, cut the spaghetti to the desired length, without removing them from the container (it is best to do it over the sink). It is important that spaghetti does not exceed the height of the container by more than 2-3 cm, otherwise they will quickly break.
Idea 9. Jars for storing spices and bulk products
When there is not enough storage space in the kitchen, you will be rescued by the lower part of the hinged locker and a few glass jars with tin lids. Depending on the volume of the cans, you can store spices, cereals, sugar, salt or any small items.
Instruction:
- Make three holes in the covers with a nail and a hammer.
- Screw the covers to the bottom of the wall cabinet on the screws. It is best to choose a closet that is closest to the stove and work area.
- Fill the jars and screw them to the lids. Voila, the organizer is ready!
Idea 10. Storage basket
Baskets in the house is never a lot, because they are so cute and help more efficiently. organize storage system. Fortunately, baskets can be made with your own hands from newspaper tubes or simply sheets of paper. Moreover, paper baskets can be very strong and practically do not differ from rattan baskets. Perhaps this is one of the best ideas for home crafts and kitchen made from scrap materials.
How to make such a basket for storing household items read with your own hands in our step-by-step master class.
Today we will talk about the express technique of making a basket of paper, which can be used for storing small things (keys, stationery), yarn, as well as for the unusual presentation of fruit, Easter eggs, bread or pastries to the holiday table or as a gift.
You will need:
- About 15 sheets of A3 thin paper cut in half along the sheets (this could be printer paper, a full-page newspaper sheet, and even baking paper);
- Capacity of suitable size with straight walls (for example, a jar of jam);
- Glue in stick;
- One skewer;
- Paint in a can (optional).
Instruction:
- Starting from one corner, start tightly-tightly folding a sheet of paper around the skewer to a diagonally opposite corner, so that the tube is even and long. When the tube is ready, add a few strokes of glue to a corner of the paper to fix it in place and pull out the skewer. Do the same with all the remaining sheets. In this master class on weaving 2 baskets it took 30 tubules.
- If necessary (for example, if you used newspaper sheets) or paint tubes with acrylic paint as desired.
- Take an even number of tubes and connect them together as shown in the photo in the upper left corner. In this master class, for a basket the size of a jar of jam required 6 tubes, for a bigger basket - 8 tubes.
- Start weaving: take one of the outer tubes (which is under the grate), and lay it on top of the next tube, then run it under the next tube, then release the tube over the next tube, etc. Continue weaving raising already twisted tubes vertically (now these tubes will be called racks).
- When the first working tube will remain 2-3 cm, increase its length. To do this, apply the glue to the new tube and insert it into the remaining "tail". Continue weaving again and again, adding paper tubes as needed.
- As soon as you weave the base of the desired diameter (the same size as the container), place a container on it and start weaving around it, pulling the tube-stands tight against the walls.
- After finishing the basket to the end, take out the jar and carefully wrap the end of the working tube into the netting.
- Wrap the ends of the poles inside the weave and trim if necessary. Further you can spray paint from a spray as in our master class.
Idea 11. Wall-mounted towel holder and kitchen utensils.
You can make such a convenient and beautiful towel holder and storage of kitchen utensils, or even living or artificial plants, from an ordinary grater.
For the manufacture of towel warmer and tray for small items you will need:
- Grater (preferably old, but the usual new grater will do, the main thing is that it be metal);
- Patina for metal (for artificial aging of grater);
- A small cutting board or just a wooden board;
- Wooden die (for grater bottom);
- Glue.
Instruction:
- Following the manufacturer's instructions, cover the grater with a metal patina, for example, in green as in this master class.
- Place a wooden bottom inside. It must be pre-cut to the size of the upper part of the grater. As a rule, in the top of the grater there are protrusions from metal handles, it is on them that the bottom will be attached.
- Screw the grater to the board on the screws, having previously made holes in it with a nail and a hammer.
- Place the plank on the wall near the sink, hang a towel on the handle, fold your shovels, scoops or flowers inside.
